How to Build a rolling sturdy workbench

Do you want to build your own portable Workbench that you can stow or use in the garage, or roll into the driveway when needed? I have been doing small weekend projects on a foldable plastic banquet table and it was time to make a solid workbench that was easy to roll in and out of where I store it or use it. Having this means you don’t have to put everything away to move the table.

The best part about this is that it is the same height as my table saw or chop saw table so easily allows me to use it as an outfeed table, project table, place to assemble, repair or paint items and just leave it along the wall for a quick task.

Here are the plans for your own portable workbench It also has step by step video on how we built it. This was made for about $150 and that included all the lumber, screws, and the good heavy duty 4″ swivel locking casters.

These plans can be adjusted to meet your specific needs, and I would encourage you to do so. For example, the height of our bench was planned to match the height of my table saw.

Each method below will have instructions, pictures, and links to video snippets of how we made ours.
